About the Fregate Private Island video

Fregate Private Island is a luxury resort in Seychelles. When a temporary closure for renovations was approaching, the team wanted a way to say goodbye to their guests and tell them about the closure.

The message was aimed at luxury travel guests, so it had to be informative, but it also needed to be fun and optimistic that better things are coming.

The brief

Tell guests the island is closing for renovation, thank them for their stay, and leave them looking forward to the reopening. The tone had to feel like the resort itself: warm, polished and a little playful, rather than a formal announcement.

How I delivered it

I wrote, filmed and edited the video, from the first concept and script through to shooting with the team on the island. The result is a light-hearted film that is as much fun to watch as it was to make. The whole process was a pleasure, and I still smile when I watch it.

Hospitality brands often need exactly this: a short, personable film that keeps guests engaged between visits.

How I make films like Fregate Private Island

My approach is the same whether the film is a documentary, an advert or a social campaign. I start with what the film has to achieve and who will watch it, plan the shoot around that, film what the story needs and edit it to the point. Because I usually write, direct, film and edit myself, there are fewer hand-offs, the decisions stay consistent from first idea to final file and the client deals with one person. I deliver the formats each channel needs, from broadcast files to vertical cuts for social media.
